Teen Patti 20-20: how the live version works and what the odds are
Two three-card hands, one bet on which ranks higher. The 20-20 live format has a house edge of about 2.5% on the main bets, and ties are rare.
Teen Patti means "three cards". It is a card game from India, and the live-dealer 20-20 format is a casino version in which players bet on which of two hands will rank higher. It is one of the games named in the Winzap live lobby.
How a 20-20 round works
- The betting window opens. Bets go on Player A, Player B, or both.
- Optional side bets, such as Pair Plus, pay according to the strength of a hand.
- The dealer deals three cards each to Player A and Player B from one 52-card deck.
- The higher-ranking hand wins. Players do not play a hand, so the result is down to chance.

- Trail (three of a kind): 52 of 22,100 possible hands, or 0.24%
- Pure sequence (straight flush): 48 hands, 0.22%
- Sequence (straight): 720 hands, 3.26%
- Colour (flush): 1,096 hands, 4.96%
- Pair: 3,744 hands, 16.94%
- High card: 16,440 hands, 74.39%
A pure sequence is slightly rarer than a trail (48 versus 52 combinations) yet ranks below it, a quirk of the traditional order.
The numbers behind the bet
In the published 20-20 paytable, a winning main bet on Player A or Player B pays 0.95 to 1 and a tie is a push, giving a house edge of about 2.50% per resolved bet. Both hands tie in about 0.11% of rounds, roughly 1 in 904. Side bets carry a higher edge, about 6.9% to 11.4% in the same paytable.
Joker versions add wild cards, which change the odds. Their payouts are not published in the same way, so treat any figures for Joker tables as unverified until the provider shows the paytable.
In context: a 2.5% edge is lower than the edge on many side bets in other games, but it still means players lose on average over time. It is information, not advice to play. You must be 18 or older.
