Cricket this week: India v West Indies T20I, Afghanistan v Bangladesh Test, Pakistan v Sri Lanka and the first South Africa-Australia Test
Four international series start or continue between 9 and 13 October, from a Test in Abu Dhabi to T20Is in Ranchi and Rawalpindi.
It is a busy cricket week. Here are the main fixtures from 9 to 13 October 2026, as published in pre-series schedules. Dates and venues can change, so confirm with the official boards or match centres.
India v West Indies (T20I series, India lead 1-0)
- 2nd T20I: Ranchi, 9 October
- 3rd T20I: Indore, 11 October
- 4th T20I: Hyderabad, 14 October
- 5th T20I: Bengaluru, 17 October
Afghanistan v Bangladesh (one-off Test)
The Test is at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi from 9 to 13 October. A three-team ODI tri-series with Zimbabwe follows from 17 to 23 October, with the final on 23 October.
Pakistan v Sri Lanka (T20Is)
Three T20Is are scheduled in Rawalpindi on 9, 11 and 13 October. England then join a seven-match ODI tri-series from 18 to 31 October, which starts in Rawalpindi and moves to Lahore. The two Tests are in November.
South Africa v Australia (Tests)
After three ODIs in late September, the Test leg begins on 9 October. Most schedules name Durban's Kingsmead for the first Test (9 to 13 October), but one guide lists Potchefstroom, so check the match centre. The second Test is in Gqeberha (18 to 22 October) and the third in Cape Town (27 to 31 October). The series is part of the 2025-27 World Test Championship cycle.
India A v Australia A
The unofficial series continues: Australia A won the first unofficial ODI on 6 October by 125 runs, and the second is scheduled for 9 October after the unofficial Test was drawn.
In context: with the Asian Games finished and the IPL auction planned for December, October is the month when international cricket takes over the calendar.
